Direction
(Excerpt from Inspired, Organized & Effective! – the book)
If you are going on a journey, which is more important: speed or direction? Of course, direction is more important. If you head the wrong way, even if you are going very fast, you won’t get there. In fact, speed only becomes relevant once you have set off in the right direction. How many people have raced up the ladder, only to find that it is leaning against the wrong wall?
Here is a fundamental law of being effective: at the beginning of the day, first check which way you are heading.
Do you often pause to think about what you are trying to achieve (direction), or do you plough through tasks in the order they arrive (speed)?
Stop rushing.
Is your day heading the right way?
If not, what can you do to change it?
Is your career heading the right way?
Is your life heading the right way?
